Mid-level Software Engineer Job Description

Pyyne is seeking a skilled software engineer with experience working with .NET C# to work as a consultant for a large US-based insurance client out of our Brazilian office.

  • This is an excellent opportunity to join a dynamic team and contribute to the development of cutting-edge software systems.

A successful candidate in this role will be a capable individual contributor, able to plan and build software systems and maintain the existing codebase. The Pyyne team will interact regularly and directly with technical and non-technical stakeholders in the client organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, Develop, and Maintain Web Applications: Using .NET Framework/.NET Core and C#, create scalable and efficient web applications that meet the needs of our clients.
  • Build Responsive User Interfaces: Utilize MVC architecture and React components to craft user-friendly and visually appealing interfaces.
  • Develop and Optimize SQL Server Databases: Ensure data security and integrity by designing and optimizing SQL Server databases, stored procedures, and queries.
  • Implement Entity Framework: Leverage Entity Framework for data access layer and ORM functionality.
  • Apply Dependency Injection Principles: Implement dependency injection patterns and design principles for scalable application architecture.
  • Collaborate with Business Stakeholders: Work closely with business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Participate in Code Reviews: Engage in regular code reviews to maintain coding standards across the team.
  • Troubleshoot and Resolve Production Issues: Effectively troubleshoot and resolve production issues in insurance applications and systems.

Must Have Skills:

  • 2+ years of professional software development experience in an Agile work environment.
  • Proficiency in .NET Framework/.NET Core and C# programming.
  • Experience with ASP.NET MVC for web application development.
  • Experience with React.js and modern JavaScript ES6+.
  • Proficient in SQL Server, including query optimization and database design.
  • Knowledge of dependency injection patterns and IoC containers.
  • Experience with RESTful API development and integration.
  • Proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, and responsive web design principles.

Nice to Have Skills:

  • Experience in the insurance domain or financial services industry in a consulting capacity.
  • Experience with Entity Framework.
  • Knowledge of Azure cloud services and deployment strategies.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
  • Experience with automated testing frameworks (NUnit, xUnit, Jest).
