Job Responsibilities
  1. Design and Develop Software: Write well-designed, testable, efficient code by using best software development practices.
  2. Contribute to the Development Lifecycle: Contribute in all phases of the development lifecycle.
  3. Document Software: Create and maintain software documentation.
  4. Improve Software: Support continuous improvement by investigating alternatives and technologies and presenting these for architectural review.
  5. Mentor and Teach: Teach, mentor, grow, and provide advice to other domain experts, individual contributors, across teams in their sub-department.
  6. Solve Complex Problems: Solves technical problems of the highest scope, complexity, and ambiguity for their sub-department.
  7. Look for Innovation Opportunities: Look for innovation opportunities in your team with a willingness to experiment and to boldly confront problems of large complexity and scope.
  8. Propose Technical Implementation: Proposes initial technical implementation which supports architectural changes that solve scaling and performance problems.
  9. Guide Conversations: Guides conversations to remove blockers and encourage collaboration in your team.
  10. Exposes Business Impact: Exposes the work of the sub department and their business impact internally.
Requirements
  1. Minimum Experience: Minimum experience of 6+ years hands-on engineering roles.
  2. Education: BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related subject.
  3. Domain Knowledge: Used to deal with medium domains with medium/high complexity.
  4. Web Application Knowledge: A solid understanding of how web applications work including security, session management, and best development practices.
  5. Database and Programming Knowledge: Knowledge of relational database systems and Object Oriented Programming.
  6. Domain Driven Design Knowledge: Knowledge in Domain Driven Design. Knowing Microservice Architecture is a plus.
  7. Ability to Work in a Fast-Paced Environment: Ability to work and thrive in a fast-paced environment, learn rapidly and master diverse web technologies and techniques.
  8. Complex Distributed Applications: Proven ability to design complex distributed applications built for high performance and throughput while being scalable and reliable.
  9. Development Experience: Development using Java, Spring Boot, PostgreSQL, Kafka and AWS.
  10. Asynchronous Programming Experience: Experience with asynchronous programming.
  11. Performance Tuning Experience: Demonstrated experience profiling and performance tuning Java applications, and using monitoring tools for production application monitoring.
