The Certified School Nurse position involves identifying and treating health conditions among students in a school setting.
OverviewKey responsibilities of the Certified School Nurse include assessing students' physical condition, providing instruction for general wellbeing and disease prevention, and referring students to appropriate resources as needed to ensure their academic success.
Required Skills and Qualifications- A current nursing license is mandatory for practicing in the state where the nurse will be working.
- Certification or Credential in school nursing is required.
- At least one year of prior school nursing experience is necessary.
- Pediatric experience is preferred.
- Current CPR certification, if applicable.
- TB Questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray, if applicable.
- Current Health certificate, per contract or state regulation.
- Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements.
- Minimum age requirement is 18 years.
