Embedded Systems Specialist

We are seeking a skilled and motivated professional with expertise in embedded systems, robotics, and computer vision to support the design and deployment of underwater robotic platforms.

  • Assist with the development of software solutions for control, data acquisition, and real-time processing.
  • Program and interface with microcontrollers and single-board computers.
  • Integrate and manage diverse sensors into underwater platforms.
  • Collaborate with engineers to define and maintain the electronics architecture of underwater robotic systems.
  • Ensure robust communication and control between topside systems and subsea units.
  • Conduct testing, calibration, and field validation of underwater systems.
  • Maintain technical documentation and support deployment teams during inspection missions.
  • Perform routine maintenance and inspections of robotic systems and automated machinery.
  • Diagnose faults and implement timely repairs.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Embedded Software Development: Assist with the development of software solutions for control, data acquisition, and real-time processing.
  • Microcontroller Programming: Program and interface with microcontrollers and single-board computers.
  • Sensor Integration: Integrate and manage diverse sensors into underwater platforms.
  • Electronics Architecture: Collaborate with engineers to define and maintain the electronics architecture of underwater robotic systems.
  • Data Communication: Ensure robust communication and control between topside systems and subsea units.
  • System Testing: Conduct testing, calibration, and field validation of underwater systems.
  • Troubleshooting: Diagnose faults and implement timely repairs.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Knowledge of underwater robotics, operation principles, and industrial inspection use cases.
  • Industry experience in oil & gas or offshore renewable energy inspection and maintenance.
  • Experience with OpenCV and computer vision techniques in real-world environments.
  • Familiarity with ROS (Robot Operating System) and Linux-based systems.
  • Understanding of subsea communication systems.
  • Experience working with ruggedized, industrial-grade electronics.
  • Knowledge of marine standards and safety protocols.
