Electronics Technician Role Overview

As an Electronics Technician, you will be responsible for testing, repairing, converting, and troubleshooting electrical products to the component level. This is a crucial role that requires strong technical skills and attention to detail.

The successful candidate will have a solid understanding of electronics engineering principles, including analog and digital electronics. They will also possess excellent communication and teamwork skills, as they will collaborate with international teams and provide technical support to staff and customers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Test, repair, convert, and troubleshoot SEL products to the component level;
  • Provide technical support for SEL products to staff and customers;
  • Collaborate and communicate effectively within an international team environment;
  • Develop and maintain expertise in SEL processes and products to ensure quality and integrity;
  • Train junior department personnel in troubleshooting techniques;
  • Implement department objectives under the direction of your immediate supervisor;
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Strong English reading, writing, and speaking skills;
  • Two-year electronics engineering technology degree or equivalent;
  • Basic working knowledge of analog and digital electronics;
  • Familiarity with modern test equipment;
  • Willingness to travel up to 10% of the time;
  • Ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities;
  • Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Component level troubleshooting experience;
  • Knowledge of SEL equipment;
  • Technical presentation skills;
  • Data analysis skills.
Physical Requirements:
  • Lift, push, pull, and maneuver up to 20 pounds frequently, and up to 35 pounds occasionally;
  • Sit and stand for at least 8 hours;
  • Vision correctable to 20/30 or better;
  • Ability to differentiate color;
  • Use of computer keyboard devices;
  • Reach;
  • Bend.
