Reliability, Availability, Maintainability Specialist

At Alstom, we're seeking a skilled Reliability, Availability, Maintainability (RAM) Engineer to join our Digital & Integrated Systems (D&IS) product line. As a key member of the Alstom D&IS RAM team in the LAM region, you'll contribute to the design and improvement of the RAM performance of our projects, systems, and products.
You'll lead, coordinate, and perform activities from the Tender phase to the Operational phase to ensure our solutions are reliable, maintainable, and available. This includes identifying the best architecture according to RAM performance requirements, customer needs, and operational conditions. You'll also guarantee risk control for each requirement related to RAM and perform continuous reliability growth activities in projects and programs.
Key responsibilities include:
- Carrying out RAM-related activities in Projects & Programs in line with Quality Cost Delivery (QCD) objectives and optimizing RAM performance while considering other constraints;
- Ensuring the correct application of Alstom standard RAM Process, Methods, Tools;
- Making design recommendations based on RAM studies and checking adherence of architecture choices to System and Customers' RAM targets;
- Analyzing complex solution architectures and performing Reliability and Lifetime predictions using conventional RAM techniques;
- Supporting Tender and Sourcing teams to choose and integrate products and systems in projects.
During the Operational phase, you'll lead activities such as Root Cause Analysis (RCA) from Field and Repair data, RAM classification of reported failures, Reliability Growth analysis, and statistical analysis of collected data to ensure operational performance and customer satisfaction.
This role reports directly to the RAM Department Head and involves interfacing with various teams, including Projects or Programs Core teams, Engineering Métiers, Cybersecurity, Tenders, Sourcing, Installation, Warranty & Maintenance teams, customers, suppliers, and subcontractors.

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or Automation Engineering;
- MBA or Advanced University degree in Dependability (RAM or RAMS);
- Knowledge and experience in Railway Signaling or other fields with high RAMS requirements;
- Reliability calculations & modeling; Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) calculations; ability to carry out statistical analyses, inferential and descriptive statistics;
- Preparation of Maintenance plans, corrective maintenance, preventive maintenance tasks; preparation of Maintenance Manuals;
- Understanding electrical/wiring schematics, Analog & Digital Electronics, Probability & Statistical concepts;
- Electrical/electronic hardware; Electronics at board level, troubleshooting;
- Ability to read wiring diagrams and schematics; identification and analysis of failures, diagnosis, troubleshooting;
- Structured, organized, rigorous; team player and proactive behavior;
- Flexible approach and ability to work effectively against deadlines;
- Great problem identification and solving skills; ability to drive activities performed by others (subcontractors, suppliers); creativity and negotiation skills (tenders, failure reviews);
- Advanced skills on MS-Word and MS-Excel are required;
Desirable:
- Desired experience with Reliability-related tools (ReliaSoft BlockSim, Aralia Fault Tree, ITEM Toolkit, Weibull ++ etc...);
- Desired experience with Statistical-related tools;
- Visual Basic for Applications (MS-VBA / macros);
- Languages/tools for Data Analytics (MS-Power BI, Qlik Sense, ...);
- Knowledge in Artificial Intelligence;
- Web-based languages are desirable;
