The socio-economic integration of Haitian people in Brazil is a pressing issue. Brazil has been a welcoming country for the Haitian population since 2012, with over 88,000 Haitians living there.

However, despite humanitarian efforts, many Haitians face challenges accessing education, work, housing, health, and social assistance opportunities due to cultural and language differences, displacement impacts, racism, and xenophobia.

To address these issues, UNHCR and the Ministry of Justice and Public Security have launched an Action Plan aimed at strengthening protection and local integration for the Haitian population in Brazil.

This consultancy aims to provide evidence-based recommendations to inform the implementation of the Action Plan and programmatic actions to be carried out by the Government, UNHCR, and other relevant actors.
