About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Java professional to join our team at Sigma Software. As a Senior Java Developer, you will play a key role in the development of our software solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Software Development: Implement software components based on provided design specifications using your primary tech stack.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure the quality, maintainability, and adherence of software to best practices.
  • Code Optimization: Produce clean, efficient, and well-documented code.
  • Requirements Gathering: Participate in requirements clarification sessions and gather inputs for assigned tasks.
  • Code Review: Proactively review your own code with peers to maintain high standards.
  • Estimation and Planning: Take part in estimation and planning sessions.
  • Team Leadership: Provide supervision, advice, and coaching for Junior team members, ensuring task delivery through guidance and peer reviews.
  • Documentation: Develop technical project documentation and user guides.
  • Team Collaboration: Actively participate in project and team meetings, contributing relevant information and insights.
Qualifications
  • Experience: At least 4+ years of experience working with Java.
  • Concurrency and Multithreading: Strong understanding of concurrency, multithreading, and performance optimization.
  • CI/CD Tools: Experience with CI/CD tools and collaboration platforms like GitHub.
  • Software Development Principles: Deep understanding of software development principles, methodologies, design patterns, and best practices.
  • Build Tools: Proficiency in at least one modern build tool (Maven, Gradle, sbt).
  • Spring Boot: Experience with Spring Boot.
  • IO and Serialization: Familiarity with IO, network IO, and serialization.
  • RDBMS: Experience with at least one RDBMS (e.g., Oracle, Postgres, MySQL, SQL Server).
  • AWS: Experience with AWS (at least at a user level).
  • Unit and Module Testing: Proficiency in unit and module testing.
  • Tools and Technologies: Familiarity with tools such as Git, IDEs, etc.
  • Language Proficiency: At least an Upper-Intermediate level of English.
Desirable Skills
  • High-Load Applications: Experience building high-load, concurrent, low-latency applications.
  • Java 21 Virtual Threads: Knowledge of Java 21 Virtual Threads and structural concurrency.
  • UNIX Systems: Experience working with UNIX systems.
  • Docker and Kubernetes: Familiarity with Docker/Kubernetes.
  • AdTech Domain: Experience in the AdTech domain, particularly with Bidder development.
  • Kotlin or Scala: Prior experience with Kotlin or Scala.
  • Data Frameworks and Stores: Experience with data frameworks (e.g., Spark, Flink, Hadoop) or data stores (e.g., Hive, Redshift, Presto, Snowflake).
