Job Description

A senior-level professional is sought to play a key role in supporting the Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) function within an organization. The successful candidate will ensure the application of corporate policies, developing and implementing security protocols for the protection of company assets and projects.


The ideal candidate will have experience in conducting risk assessments, incident investigations, and implementing HSE programs in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. Strong communication and collaboration skills are essential for effectively conveying HSE policies and procedures to employees and management.


This position requires a strong understanding of HSE principles and a proven ability to develop and implement strategies to mitigate risks and prevent accidents or incidents.


Responsibilities include:

  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure the organization complies with all relevant laws and standards.
  • Risk Assessment and Management: Conduct risk assessments to identify potential hazards and develop strategies to mitigate risks.
  • HSE Policies and Procedures: Develop, implement, and enforce HSE policies and procedures.
  • Training and Education: Develop and deliver HSE training programs for employees at all levels.
  • Incident Investigation: Lead investigations into accidents, incidents, or near-misses to determine root causes.
  • Emergency Response Planning: Develop and maintain emergency response plans.
  • Inspections and Audits: Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and areas of non-compliance.
  • Data Analysis and Reporting: Collect and analyze HSE data to identify trends and areas for improvement.

Required Skills and Qualifications

The successful candidate will possess:

  • 5+ years of experience in health, safety, and environmental roles, preferably in oil and gas industry, infrastructure construction.
  • Qualifications as Occupational Safety Technician in accordance with Brazilian legislation Regulatory Standard NR4 of the Ministry of Labour and Employement.
  • Lead Auditor ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 certificates.
  • Relevant certifications can enhance a candidate's profile, including Lead Auditor ISO 9001, Certified Safety Professional (CSP), and NEBOSH certificate.
