About the Role

Oowlish is seeking an experienced Python developer to join our growing platform revolutionizing travel and house-sitting experiences. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a remote-first environment while contributing to a platform used by travelers and homeowners worldwide.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop, maintain, and optimize backend services and RESTful APIs using Python.
  • Collaborate with frontend, design, and product teams to build scalable and reliable systems.
  • Work with relational and/or non-relational databases (SQL, NoSQL).
  • Ensure the backend architecture is efficient, secure, and scalable.
  • Occasionally support or collaborate with frontend tasks if familiar with React.
  • Participate in Agile workflows, code reviews, and technical discussions.
Must-Have:
  • A minimum of 4 years of professional experience with Python development.
  • Solid understanding of RESTful APIs and backend service design principles.
  • Experience working with databases (SQL and/or NoSQL). Experience with database administration would be beneficial.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to code quality.
  • Comfortable working remotely and collaborating with distributed teams.
