Our solutions include iOS apps, Android apps, Mac apps, Chrome extensions, and web applications. We are a team of nearly 200 professionals from diverse backgrounds working in a fully distributed setting. This includes frontend and backend engineers, AI research scientists, and individuals from Amazon, Microsoft, Google, Stanford, high growth startups like Stripe and Vercel, and founders of their own companies.

Overview

We require an experienced Senior Android Engineer to assist with user support and contribute to new projects enhancing our app's capabilities.

This is a pivotal role for someone who excels in strategic thinking, thrives in fast-paced environments, makes informed product decisions, and possesses expertise in crafting exceptional user experiences.

• Owning major features and collaborating closely with our design team – taking ownership of features inside the app and ensuring high-quality feature delivery
• Shaping the future of our Android team
• Managing and improving reliability metrics for key features
• Participating in discussions across different teams – Product, Design, Engineering
• Reviewing pull requests, supporting teammates, and handling critical issues or unexpected challenges
• Assuming ownership of feature releases and providing nightly builds for QA teams

• Minimum 5 years of software engineering experience
• Familiarity with Android components
• Experience building or contributing to at least one Android application
• Product design intuition and user empathy
• Drive to push the boundaries of Android UI/UX
• Understanding of the importance of tests and approach to writing tests
• Self-drive to improve the app and codebase above and beyond specified requirements
• Excellent proficiency with Kotlin, Kotlin Coroutines, Kotlin Flow, Dagger 2, MVVM, Clean Architecture, Background Services, Music Player Service, Android Animations, Jetpack Navigation, JUnit tests
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
• Continuous feedback-driven approach

• Experience building, maintaining, or contributing to open-source projects in Android
