Senior Backend Developer

We're seeking an experienced software engineer to join our team in Brazil. As a Senior Backend Developer, you will play a key role in designing and implementing scalable and reliable systems that power our products.

  • You'll work with modern frameworks and technologies to develop core functionality for our customer-facing and internal products, systems, and data platforms.
  • Develop extensible platforms and architectures that enable us to quickly and efficiently launch new products and lines of business.
  • You'll drive impact in a team environment, working with other engineers, designers, QAs, product managers, business stakeholders, and domain experts.
What You'll Do:
  • Develop and maintain integrations with third-party systems.
  • Develop APIs powering web and mobile platforms for our product portfolio.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Excellent English skills (verbal and written) are mandatory.
  • At least 5 years of commercial experience as a software engineer or equivalent.
  • Familiarity with scalable cloud architectures, design patterns, and best practices.
  • Practical experience with CI/CD and IaC (Infrastructure-as-code).
  • Readiness to quickly learn PHP (our main BE language for the moment).
  • Experience with databases and data management practices - relational databases and search engines.
  • Experience with TDD and testable code - unit/integration/performance testing.
  • Great verbal and written communication skills and the ability to explain complex ideas in a simple way to non-engineering teammates.
  • Ability to zoom in and out - be comfortable with getting into relevant low-level details while also making optimal tradeoffs for achieving big-picture goals.
