About the Role
We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled professional to join our team as Managing Director for the Southern Cone Region. This is a unique opportunity to lead our efforts in the region and contribute to the success of our organization.
Main Responsibilities
- Develop and implement business strategies to achieve regional targets and objectives.
- Lead a team of Country Representatives and Delivery Unit Heads to drive business performance and impact.
- Maintain relationships with governments and private sector clients to identify business opportunities and promote our services.
- Provide guidance and oversight to Country Representatives to support their strategic, tactical, and operational responsibilities.
- Oversee business performance from a regional perspective and identify areas for improvement.
- Collaborate with IDB and IDB Lab to promote synergies and drive business growth.
- Manage operational, human, capital, and budgetary resources at the unit level.
Requirements
- At least 10 years of relevant experience as a banker with a proven business track record.
- Master's degree (or equivalent advanced degree) in Economics, Finance, Business Administration, Law, Engineering, or another relevant field.
- Proficiency in English and one of the other Bank's official languages (Spanish, French, or Portuguese) is required.
- There are no citizenship requirements.
- Consanguinity: No family members (up to the fourth degree of consanguinity and second degree of affinity, including spouse) working at the IDB, IDB Invest, or IDB Lab.

We offer a competitive remuneration package that reflects the value and expertise of our candidates. This comprehensive package includes attractive cash compensation, performance-based variable pay, robust insurance coverage, and a pension plan.

We offer a staff contract, initially 36 months, renewable upon mutual agreement.
