Embedded Linux Engineer

The successful candidate will be responsible for board bring-up and functionality support for our client's next-generation Unified Communication product line. The role requires expertise in Embedded Linux U-Boot/kernel development and customization, Linux Device Tree development, Android HAL (Hardware Abstraction Layer), embedded Linux device driver development, optimizations, bug fixing, and adding new functionality.

This position also involves debugging issues within the Android Framework and Linux Kernel, independently reading and understanding electrical schematics, and working with source control tools such as Git, Gerrit, GitHub, and Android command line tools like adb and fastboot.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Board Bring-up and Functionality Support
  • Embedded Linux U-Boot/kernel Development and Customization
  • Linux Device Tree Development and Android HAL Support
  • Embedded Linux Device Driver Development, Optimizations, Bug Fixing, and New Functionality Addition
  • Debugging Issues within the Android Framework and Linux Kernel
  • Independent Reading and Understanding of Electrical Schematics
  • Working with Source Control Tools like Git, Gerrit, GitHub, and Android Command Line Tools

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Deep Specialized Experience in Two or More Areas: BSP/Board Support Package, Operating Systems, Kernel, Android Kernel, Bootloader, Power Management, RTOS, Linux, Graphics and Display Drivers
  • Demonstrated Experience Working Collaboratively in Cross-Functional Teams
  • Familiarity with Android Security Model (SE Linux Policy) and Secure Boot
  • Experience with Google's AOSP Architecture Developing Android Framework Services, Android Native Applications (JNI / NDK), or System Applications in Java or Kotlin
  • Excellent Verbal and Written Communication Skills
  • Persistent Problem-Solving Skills, Ability to Work with Others to Find Solutions
  • Responsibility, Self-Motivation, Creativity, Solid Work Ethic, and Desire to Produce Quality Products
