## Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Chef de Partie to join our culinary team at Mercure Townsville. As a key member of our kitchen team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality culinary experiences to our guests.

## Key Responsibilities

* Organize and maintain your section of the kitchen with precision and care, ensuring a clean and safe working environment.
* Train and lead your team, providing clear communication and delegation of tasks to ensure seamless kitchen operations.
* Manage kitchen orders and provide constructive feedback to improve processes, ensuring efficiency and productivity.
* Support the Sous Chef and culinary leadership in daily operations, contributing to the success of our culinary team.
* Oversee your designated kitchen area and assist other sections as needed, ensuring a cohesive and effective kitchen team.
* Uphold the highest standards of hygiene and safety in the kitchen, adhering to our company's policies and procedures.
* Contribute to the success of weddings and events, with opportunities to expand your skill set in these areas.
* Work closely with the Executive Chef to solve operational challenges and enhance kitchen efficiency, driving continuous improvement.

## Qualifications

* At least 4 years of experience in a kitchen environment, with a proven track record of success in a similar role.
* Possess a Cert IV in Basic Culinary or a Diploma in Food Science, along with a Food Safety Certificate.
* Demonstrated expertise in knife skills, including butchery, seafood, poultry, and dessert preparations.
* A keen eye for detail and a commitment to presenting high-quality dishes, ensuring exceptional culinary experiences for our guests.
* Strong communication skills and the ability to manage conflicts effectively, fostering a positive and productive team environment.
* Capable of thriving in a fast-paced environment and working well with a diverse team, adapting to changing circumstances and priorities.
