Key Responsibilities

Cargo Operations

  • Prepare and execute marine and cargo operations in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Monitor and maintain marine and cargo operations to ensure safe and efficient operations.
  • Prepare and shutdown marine and cargo operations as required.
  • Contribute to tank entry, inspection, and maintenance activities.

Leadership and Supervision

  • Demonstrate leadership in technical and safety issues.
  • Liaise effectively with onshore and offshore departments.
  • Delegate authority and verify effective close-out of tasks.
  • Promote training and competence.
  • Promote safety awareness and application of the Management System.
  • Ensure timely and effective close-out of survey and audit action items.
  • Contribute to reporting and investigation of incidents.

Emergency Response and Pollution Control

  • Develop and implement emergency response plans.
  • Manage emergency response with due regard for safety of personnel, vessel, and environment.
  • Monitor and maintain pollution control measures.
  • Controlled process discharges to the environment are within prescribed limits.
  • Unplanned discharges are identified, halted, and reported according to policy and regulation.

Requirements

  • Minimum qualifications as per STCW II/2 Chief Officer of ships of 3000gt or more.
  • 3 years Crude Oil tankers experience as OOW (Officer on Watch) - Chief Officer experience desirable.
  • Previous FPSO experience would be an advantage.
  • Medically fit with offshore International standards such as ENG1 or equivalent.
  • Personal Skills: Conscientious, flexible, versatile, and determined. Capable of assertive and positive communication and performance. Leadership: Good safety and supervisory leadership skills. Good levels of written and spoken communication in the English language. A clear understanding of personnel behavioral and team issues. Technical: Appropriate standard of technical, legal, and professional knowledge as defined by competencies. IT: Practical familiarity with standard 'Office' software package. Operation and use of Internet and electronic mail system.
