Role Overview: As a Lead Cloud Infrastructure Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in assisting organizations to design and enhance the systems they utilize for software delivery and operations. Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with teams to initiate projects through practical implementation, assess current infrastructure, and drive enhancements.
  • Engage with clients to understand their requirements and work together to create a technical roadmap that aligns with their strategic business objectives.
  • Contribute to the development of Thoughtworks' cloud and infrastructure capabilities by partnering with fellow practitioners, business development, marketing, and capability enhancement teams.
  • Establish and refine controls and processes for continuous delivery and infrastructure evolution, emphasizing automation throughout all phases.
  • Proactively monitor and ensure that technical deliverables consistently meet project expectations.
  • Provide expert guidance in DevOps, cloud solutions, platform, and infrastructure engineering, both internally and at client locations.
  • Build and maintain trusting relationships with client engineering leadership.
  • Propose innovative solutions to overcome existing constraints and business policies.

Technical Qualifications:

  • Experience in designing and implementing enterprise-level hosting platforms, with proficiency in managing application servers, web servers, and databases.
  • In-depth knowledge of cloud and virtualization technologies, infrastructure automation, and application hosting solutions.
  • Familiarity with software delivery teams and a solid understanding of DevOps principles, Agile methodologies, and Infrastructure as Code.
  • Hands-on experience with at least one IaaS cloud platform and multiple application runtime environments, including physical and virtual servers, container orchestration, serverless architectures, and databases.
  • Proficient in scripting with at least one language and comfortable building various server types, including Linux, Windows, or container clusters.
  • Experience with continuous integration and delivery tools across different technology stacks.
  • Knowledge of monitoring systems for availability, performance, and security.
  • Understanding of security challenges, including infrastructure vulnerabilities, secrets management, network security, and software supply chain security.
  • Experience with unit testing and automated testing tools is a plus.
