Position Overview
The primary function of the QA Test Lead role is to spearhead and deliver testing services to clients, utilizing industry standards and best practices to fulfill TTC's customer expectations. The QA Lead will collaborate to develop and refine the overall QA process. This position also involves mentoring QA team members on methodologies, strategies, frameworks, and other technical elements. Additionally, the QA Test Lead may provide general application support for production systems, managing relationships with business stakeholders, software vendors, auditors, and other internal IT teams.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background and exceptional leadership abilities, demonstrating diplomacy, motivation, and influence. Success in this role requires a proactive, strategic mindset, along with the capability to perform hands-on tasks as necessary.
Key Responsibilities
- Consult with clients on designing and implementing comprehensive testing activities that meet objectives and ensure sustainable product quality throughout the software development lifecycle (SDLC).
- Provide guidance on all QA aspects, including establishing metrics, applying industry best practices, and developing new tools and processes to achieve quality goals.
- Develop, plan, execute, and maintain test cases, scripts, plans, and protocols for products in development.
- Participate in deploying enhancements, upgrades, and major implementations.
- Conduct User Acceptance Testing to validate end-to-end business processes.
- Identify opportunities for test process improvements, seeking continuous enhancements that deliver value to external customers.
- Establish and refine formal QA processes, ensuring the team adheres to best practices.
- Act as the primary contact for all QA aspects of releases, providing QA services and coordinating internal and external QA resources; maintain strong relationships with key customer stakeholders and manage their expectations.
- Collaborate with project management to meet testing milestones and deliver high-quality solutions on schedule.
- Lead, collaborate, and mentor QA team members, sharing domain knowledge to enhance the overall capabilities of the group.
Technical Skills Required
- Familiarity with SAP modules: FIORI, MM, PM, SD, FICO, PP/QM, BW, EWM, BPC, APO, or others (highly preferred).
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills; ability to effectively convey information to internal and external team members.
- Leadership capabilities; ability to guide and mentor a team of QA professionals.
- Independence; ability to work with minimal supervision and meet project deadlines within specified constraints.
- Experience with the software development lifecycle (SDLC), including business planning, data analysis, process analysis and design, business and functional requirements analysis, use case analysis, applications/system design, development, testing, and implementation.
- Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills to recommend solutions that meet requirements.
- Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail to evaluate information from multiple sources, assess risks, reconcile conflicts, and prioritize user requests based on true business needs.
- Time management and organizational skills; ability to execute and complete assigned projects within the agreed time, scope, and budget.
- Experience in Agile and Waterfall development environments.
- Knowledge of large-scale SAP deployment, implementation, support, and/or upgrade projects (highly preferred).
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Information Systems, or Computer Science.
- 7+ years of experience in Software Development and Quality Assurance, including User Acceptance Testing, Functional Testing, Performance and Scalability Testing, Manual and Automated Testing; UAT experience required.
- 3-6 years of SAP Functional Testing experience (highly preferred).
- ISTQB Certification.
