**Cardiothoracic Physician Surgeon Job Overview**
This role supports the US Department of Veterans Affairs Critical Staffing Program, representing International SOS and providing key services.
The ideal candidate will be a Board Certified/Board Eligible Cardiothoracic Physician Surgeon with experience in delivering on-site Open-Heart Cardiothoracic Surgery in a VHA medical treatment facility, meeting or exceeding recognized standards.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Deliver on-site Open-Heart Cardiothoracic Surgery including Pacemaker and Pericardial Window procedures, VATs, Lobectomy's, thoracotomy, diaphragm plication, chest wall hernia repair, decortication, pleurectomy, and chest tube management w/tPA.
- Initial patient evaluations, pre and post-operative care, cardiothoracic surgery consults, back-up for Interventional Cardiology (PCI) cases, and communication of test results and patient discharge education.
**Required Skills and Qualifications:**
- Current, full and unrestricted license in one or more state, commonwealth, territory or DC.
- Board Certified/Board Eligible by the American Board of Thoracic Surgery Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) or equivalent.
- 4 Years experience in the last 5 years, DEA License, and previous VA or Military experience strongly preferred but not required.
- Fluent in Spanish and English.
