Operations Director
Job Summary:As Operations Director, you will be responsible for leading our manufacturing operations to achieve production goals for quality, efficiency, and safety.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead all plant operations to ensure production goals are met.
- Implement and sustain Lean manufacturing principles to drive continuous improvement.
- Develop and mentor supervisors and production employees to improve skill levels and engagement.
- Maintain a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with regulations.
- Monitor production schedules, workflow, and equipment maintenance to minimize downtime.
- Drive quality improvements to meet the needs of customers.
- Collaborate with senior management to optimize processes and support company objectives.
- Manage labor, materials, and equipment resources effectively.
- Foster a team-oriented culture that values accountability and problem-solving.
- 10+ years of manufacturing leadership experience, preferably in wood products, veneer, plywood, or related industries.
- Strong knowledge of Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methods.
- Experience managing multi-shift production with 50+ employees.
- Track record of improving efficiency, reducing waste, and driving performance.
- Ability to develop talent and build a high-performance culture.
- Hands-on leadership style—comfortable on the floor and engaging with the team.
- Solid understanding of maintenance, quality control, and safety standards.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
