We are seeking a skilled Data Engineer - Database Specialist to join our team. This is a long-term contract position that can be done remotely from Brazil, Argentina or Chile.
Key Responsibilities:- Design and develop complex database queries, stored procedures, views and functions using T-SQL.
- Build and maintain robust ETL processes using SSIS and SSDT.
- Perform index optimization and query tuning to ensure high performance and scalability.
- Model and maintain relational database schemas to support application and reporting needs.
- Collaborate with data engineers, analysts and application developers to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
- Support database deployment processes and version control using SSDT and source control tools.
- Monitor and troubleshoot database performance, availability and integrity.
- 8+ years of experience in SQL development with Microsoft SQL Server.
- Advanced proficiency in T-SQL and query optimization techniques.
- Strong experience with SSIS and SSDT for ETL and deployment automation.
- Solid understanding of relational database design and normalization.
- Experience with SSRS, design and troubleshooting reports.
- Familiarity with SQL Server features: Service Broker, Linked Servers and Database Mail.
- Familiarity with database administration fundamentals (e.g., indexing, partitioning, backup strategies).
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
