The Database Support Professional plays a vital role in ensuring the integrity and performance of databases. This entry-level position focuses on supporting day-to-day administration tasks, monitoring systems, and troubleshooting under the guidance of senior team members.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and optimize SQL Server databases and SQL Agent jobs for peak efficiency
- Perform routine backups, integrity checks, and index management to prevent data loss
- Collaborate with developers to ensure efficient SQL queries and database structures
- Support data security and backup/restore practices to maintain data accuracy and consistency
- Assist in creating and maintaining technical documentation to support knowledge sharing and best practices
Requirements:
- Associate's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 0–2 years of experience in database support, administration, or related IT role
- Familiarity with Windows Server environments and basic understanding of SQL queries and relational database concepts
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to resolve database performance issues
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams
