EHS Manager

About the Role:

Bowery Farming Inc. is seeking an EH&S Manager to oversee and implement EH&S practices across our vertical farms. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of EH&S programs, including Lockout-Tagout, Chemical Safety, and Electrical Safety.

You will also be responsible for training and coaching Shift Leaders to become highly effective leaders in preventing injuries through safety best practices. Additionally, you will provide on-line EH&S performance reports to Farm Leadership to ensure quick closure of performance gaps and escalation of problems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the development and implementation of EH&S programs across Farm Teams.
• Train and coach Shift Leaders to become highly effective leaders in preventing injuries.
• Provide on-line EH&S performance reports to Farm Leadership.
• Lead Site EH&S Committees to drive a proactive agenda to promote people's health & wellbeing, prevent injuries and reduce environmental impact.
• Implement SOPs and drive compliance with OSHA and local regulations.
• Ensure employees have the right tools, knowledge and equipment required to do their jobs effectively and safely.
• Lead all environmental and safety regulatory compliance efforts and ensure proper documentation is maintained.
• Promote a culture of world class performance and continuous improvement that values learning and a commitment to safety, health and environment.
• Maintain leading and lagging indicators that give a meaningful indication of safety performance.

Requirements:

• An EH&S Operations leader with manufacturing or production Industry experience.
• Strong OSHA compliance knowledge compounded with a strong chemical storage compliance background.
• An EH&S professional with experience in the creation and implementation of essential safety programs.
• A leader who knows how to establish relationships with all employees, Supervisors, and Bowery Managers.
• Able to travel 10-20% across our network of farms.
