We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Research Scientist to join our team at Johnson & Johnson Consumer Inc. as a Principal Scientist. This is a critical role that will involve conducting research of a complex nature towards the identification, assessment, and development of new scientific concepts and technologies.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and conduct scientific research in the field of Skin Health focusing on Face & Body Projects utilizing advanced techniques and methodologies.
- Design and execute experiments to investigate and analyze complex scientific problems, and develop innovative solutions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement scientific strategies and initiatives.
- Communicate scientific findings and recommendations to internal and external stakeholders, including presenting at conferences and publishing in scientific journals.
- Mentor and train junior scientists, providing guidance and support to facilitate their technical growth and development.
- Lead and direct research efforts towards the identification, assessment, and development of new scientific concepts and technologies in alignment with the role of Principal Scientist.
- Continuously improve the development of new or refined materials, processes, products, and scientific procedures in alignment with the general_summary.
- Ensure high-quality conduct of projects, including design, data summary and interpretation, report and manuscript preparation and review, and adherence to applicable regulations, leveraging insights from Duties and top_responsibilities.
- Analyze data and highly complex situations involving the evaluation of tangible and identifiable variables to arrive at creative and effective solutions, leveraging insights from top_responsibilities.
- Make significant contributions at the national level through scientific literature and conferences, leveraging insights from top_responsibilities.
- Masters Degree or equivalent in relevant field, with 6-8 years of related experience.
- Proven track record of conducting and leading scientific research.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Expertise in formulation and methodologies relevant to Skin Health.
- Experience in a product development setting is desired, leveraging insights from consumer data.
- Proficiency in cGMPs, word processing programs (e.g., WORD), spreadsheet applications (e.g., EXCEL), and data-based documentation systems (e.g., CONNECT, EDM, etc.).
- Prior experience in the manual set-up of pilot scale equipment is desired.
- Strong leadership, with a passion for developing and supporting the technical growth of junior scientists.
- Strong written and oral communication skills are required in order to influence global and regional partners in the projects that are conducted.
- Ability to work independently, while managing multiple priorities successfully.
- Ability to influence others is highly preferred due to the role as an Regional Executing Site.
