Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Automation Engineer to join our team at Trading Technologies International. As a key member of our Systems Engineering team, you will play a critical role in designing, implementing, and maintaining our infrastructure automation processes using modern DevOps practices and tools.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and Implement Infrastructure Automation Solutions: Utilize tools such as Terraform, Cloud Formation, and Chef to manage cloud-based and on-premises environments.
  • Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Work with development, operations, and security teams to define infrastructure requirements, develop architecture designs, and implement scalable solutions ensuring seamless transition of software from development to production.
  • Develop and Maintain CI/CD Pipelines: Automate software deployments, infrastructure provisioning, and configuration management using CI/CD pipelines.
  • Conduct Regular Code Reviews and Testing: Ensure the reliability and repeatability of infrastructure deployments by conducting regular code reviews and testing.
  • Troubleshoot and Resolve Issues: Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to infrastructure automation, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal system performance.
  • Facilitate Improvements to Platform Stability and Site Reliability: Collaborate with internal teams and stakeholders to improve platform stability and site reliability.
  • Act as a Hands-On Technical Advisor: Mentor peers and provide technical guidance on best practices for infrastructure automation and DevOps processes.
  • Design and Implement Automation Improvements: Design and implement automation improvements to support large-scale Linux, Windows, SAN storage, and virtualization environments.
Requirements
  • Team Player: Comfortable working in a highly collaborative environment with excellent customer service, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, and at least 5+ years of relevant work experience.
  • Proven Experience: Proven experience (5+ years) as an Infrastructure Engineer, DevOps Engineer, or similar role focused on infrastructure automation and IaC.
  • Expertise in Infrastructure Automation Tools: Expertise in using infrastructure automation tools such as Terraform, Ansible, Chef, or Puppet to manage cloud-based environments.
  • Strong Proficiency in Scripting and Programming Languages: Strong proficiency in scripting and programming languages (e.g., Python, Bash, PowerShell) for automation and configuration management tasks.
  • Solid Understanding of Networking Concepts and Security Best Practices: Solid understanding of networking concepts, security best practices, and infrastructure architecture.
  • Excellent Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to system monitoring and performance tuning.
  • Strong Operating Systems Management Skills: Strong operating systems management skills, with a proven background in Linux (RHEL/CentOS) administration; Windows administration experience a plus.
  • Experience Supporting Virtualized Environments: Experience supporting virtualized environments on centralized storage (e.g., Nutanix, VMware vSphere).
  • Ability to Work On-Call or Weekends: Ability to work on-call or weekends as necessary.
