Project Controller Job Description

Benthic, a leading provider of geotechnical consulting and engineering services, is seeking a highly skilled Project Controller to join our team in Rio de Janeiro.

Job Summary

The Project Controller will be responsible for ensuring financial control over project costs and revenues, working closely with the Operational, Financial, and Sales teams to maintain accurate tracking and forecasting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial control of projects, including actuals, forecasts, and cash flow management
  • Project accounting analysis and reconciliation
  • Monthly revenue and cost accruals, project billings, and accounts receivable management
  • Collaboration with sales and operations to manage project tracking and costing
  • Identification and mitigation of potential issues related to project cost or revenue
  • Assistance with variation control, ensuring costs associated with additional work are captured and invoiced
  • Liaison with project teams to ensure timely invoicing and payment
  • Support for the Project Manager with PMR preparation and report
  • Financial input to tender negotiations and local risk review process
  • Preparation of business cases and financial feasibility analysis
  • Collaboration with the Finance team on revenue forecasts and costing
  • Support for the closing month process and audits
  • Maintenance of accurate files and data integrity
  • Interface with the finance team to ensure consistency of information
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or Economics
  • 5 years' experience as a Project Controller in the Oil & Gas industry for EPCI contracts
  • Excellent knowledge of accounting and financial rules and processes
  • Knowledge of IFRS 15 and POC methodology and application
  • Strong MS Excel skills
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving ability
  • Trustworthy and Ethical
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Advanced level in English, both written and spoken
  • Team-oriented, positive attitude, and ability to work well with others
