About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Legal Counsel to join our team at Lloyd's Register. As a key member of our legal department, you will provide expert legal advice and guidance to our subsidiary and affiliate corporations in the Americas Area, with a focus on Central and South America.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide responsive and pragmatic legal advice to our management team and their reports.
- Draft, review, and negotiate contracts in the Americas Area, with a focus on Central and South America.
- Advise on legal issues, particularly those related to contracts and labor and employment law.
- Implement risk-management policy and support corporate policies.
- Assist internal clients in avoiding undesirable legal consequences.
Requirements
- A legal degree from a school accredited by the National Commission of Legal Education of the OAB Federal Council and passage of the Brazilian Bar Examination.
- Demonstrated commercial law experience (5+ years) ideally in a corporate law department.
- Good working knowledge of contract, employment, competition, intellectual property, and general commercial law.
- A can-do mindset and customer-focused, commercially astute, collaborative approach to developing partnerships between the legal team and the businesses.
- Extensive negotiating experience.
- Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
- Ability to work in a team environment and under pressure.
- Self-motivated and self-disciplined.
- Superior analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Fluency in Portuguese, Spanish, and English (desirable).
