Software Engineer for Linux Security and Cryptography

This role focuses on building and maintaining the security foundation that enables secure operations and compliance to international information security standards.

Key responsibilities include collaborating with other engineers, extending and enhancing Linux cryptographic components, working with external partners, contributing to open source projects, and communicating within and outside the organization.

  • Collaborate with other engineers to achieve and retain various Security certifications
  • Extend and enhance Linux cryptographic components with required features and functionality
  • Work with external partners to develop security hardening benchmarks and audit + remediation automation
  • Contribute to open source projects to land solutions and benefit the community

Requirements include hands-on experience with low-level Linux cryptography APIs and debugging, excellent software engineering fundamentals, including prior experience with C development, hands-on experience with Linux system administration and shell scripting, demonstrated knowledge of security and cryptography fundamentals, direct experience writing secure code and implementing best practices, significant development experience working with open source libraries, and excellent verbal and written communications.

Additional skills may include prior experience working on certified products, in-depth knowledge of underlying standards, prior experience working directly with DISA-STIG or CIS benchmarks, experience working directly with Linux Kernel, prior experience with Python, OVAL, and Ansible, and history of contributions to open source projects.
