Position Summary:
We are in search of a Financial Analyst with robust experience in U.S. accounting and advanced SQL capabilities. This role centers on organizing and managing financial data, crafting accounting specifications, and aiding in the automation of journal entries to improve financial operations, ensuring accuracy, completeness, compliance, and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate across functions with Technical Accounting, Operational Accounting, Engineering, Product, Finance, Tax, Legal, and various stakeholders on policies, processes, and programs, driving essential system initiatives and enhancements.
- Evaluate new product designs presented during internal Financial Compliance Review meetings and determine their impact on existing or necessary new accounting specifications for the Revenue Subledger.
- Support business requirements while ensuring data consistency and integrity.
- Develop and outline comprehensive accounting data specifications to facilitate the seamless automation of journal entries, ensuring accuracy, completeness, compliance, and efficiency in financial operations.
- Oversee data quality of journal entries configured through the Revenue Subledger and design Data Quality checks for identified use cases via accounting specifications design, ad hoc investigations, new product launches, etc.
- Conduct User Acceptance Testing (UAT) of accounting requirement data results.
- Write and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, and views for data extraction, transformation, and reporting.
- Collaborate with Product and Engineering teams to continuously enhance our daily Revenue Reconciliation process and manage reconciliation analysis.
- Work together with partnering teams on journal entry flows for new or existing products for automation via the Revenue Subledger.
- Conduct ad hoc analyses and projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Experience working with North American financial/accounting teams is essential.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.
- Ability to develop Accounting Specifications for upstream data.
- 3+ years of experience in revenue accounting, data analytics, and/or business intelligence.
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP, ASC 606 Revenue Recognition is required; knowledge of IFRS is a plus.
- Intermediate to advanced SQL skills and the ability to manage large volumes of transactional data; Python knowledge is a plus.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with adaptability to changing work environments.
- Ability to engage with all levels of management and cross-functional teams, both internally and externally.
Contract Terms:
This is a contract position with potential for extension.
Note:
Candidates must be comfortable working during PST hours.
