Position Summary
As a Junior Website Administrator, you will support and assist the Website Administrator in maintaining, stabilizing, and optimizing various company-managed websites, services, databases, APIs, and servers (collectively referred to as "web properties").
This role is designed to provide hands-on experience and training, preparing you for more complex responsibilities in the future.
You will report to the Website Administrator, who will guide your work, provide mentorship, and oversee your professional development.
Your role will involve both proactive planning and reactive problem-solving, requiring you to learn how to prioritize tasks and adapt to changing circumstances.
**Responsibilities**:
- Assist with maintaining web property uptime
- Support the regular update schedule for plugins, themes, packages, and other dependencies
- Learn and assist with backup and disaster recovery processes
- Help monitor error logs and report issues using the company's issue tracking system
- Assist in implementing performance optimizations under guidance
- Contribute to the documentation of processes and workflows
- Help maintain staging and testing environments
- Assist in troubleshooting and support tasks as directed
- Participate in security audits and learn about web security best practices
- Help gather data for cost optimization recommendations
**Qualifications**:
- Experience using WordPress
- Experience using Ubuntu
- Familiarity with GitHub for for issue tracking and project management
