This remote position involves managing various backend platform areas, including API integrations with third-party vendors and partners.As a Backend Engineer with our User Tribe, you will play a key role in enhancing user access to Rain and developing products that promote positive cash flow.
You will collaborate with international teams to manage a digital wallet that enables seamless transactions and employer linking.ResponsibilitiesTranslate product requirements into technical solutions, recommend alternatives, and lead engineering efforts to meet goals.Design and implement reliable systems within a distributed microservices architecture.Build and maintain integrations with third-party vendors and partners.Design and develop highly available RESTful APIs for web and mobile applications.Create reusable code and libraries to foster collaboration and scalability.Implement observability best practices using logging, metrics, and alerting systems.Maintain detailed technical documentation for all solutions.Monitor systems for performance and scalability improvements.Communicate effectively across teams to align priorities and requirements.Qualifications5+ years of software development experience.Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent.Proficiency in back-end languages such as Go, Java, Python, or C++.Experience designing RESTful APIs and working with SQL and NoSQL databases.Experience building scalable distributed systems and microservices.Strong collaboration and communication skills.Knowledge of cloud services (AWS/Azure/GCP), Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD tools.Experience with message queuing systems like Kafka, RabbitMQ, or Flink.Ability to own projects and work with agile methodologies.Additional InformationSeniority level: Mid-Senior levelEmployment type: Full-timeJob function: Engineering and Information TechnologyRain is committed to diversity and equal opportunity.
