Position Summary

The terrain park manager will provide leadership and guidance for all terrain park operations while fostering a positive attitude. This position will coordinate with all mountain operations departments, marketing, and the public to create safe, high-quality, fun, efficient, and visually appealing terrain parks. Works with outside entities and other resort partners to ensure that Woodward Mountain Park standards are met. The terrain park manager coordinates overall equipment use for the department in conjunction with the grooming leadership team and the Director of Mountain Operations.

Essential Functions/Major Responsibilities- Ensure that the highest safety standards are upheld across the mountain within the Terrain Parks department.- Oversee the day-to-day administration and supervision of the Terrain Park department, which includes various mountain activities and hands-on equipment operation.- Responsible for all direct report hiring, staff management, scheduling, formal evaluations, coaching, training, terminations, and working closely with Human Resources to continually focus on leadership and adherence to federal and state employment laws.- Ensure that the Terrain Park staff are effective, innovative, and can demonstrate high levels of professional competency that are commensurate with company philosophies.- Authority to make decisions on the snow regarding the opening, closing, maintenance, and grooming of all features within the terrain park.- Holds scheduled departmental meetings covering operational safety, building plans, and upcoming events.- Creates and tracks the terrain park budget, along with supply ordering.- Develop budget proposals and control expenses for the Terrain Park operations budget, including some associated capital projects.- Creates the Design and Layout of all parks, collaborating with park and building staff. All major park changes are discussed with the Mountain Operations Director and Ski Patrol Director.- Provides weekly park and feature updates for the marketing team.- Construction and maintenance of the superpipe and other terrain park features- Welding and construction of all features including but not limited to boxes, rakes, rails, walls, etc.- Training of terrain park staff and terrain park cat operators for all duties, responsibilities, safety, tasks, and smart style.- Implementation and adherence to all risk management, training documentation, and health and safety protocols set forth by Mt. Bachelor.- Works to align Woodward Mountain Park with the Marketing vision.- Coordinates and sees that event venues are built in conjunction with events staff and event promoters.- Provides insight to the Event Manager regarding team rider relationships and conduct within park operations.- Builds and maintains industry contacts and relations regarding industry best practices as they pertain to Terrain Parks.- Educate staff and guests on all safety items set forth by Mt Bachelor, Smart Style, and the Responsibility Code.- Regular meetings with the terrain park staff and operators for long
