The Clinic Lead will manage all medical team members during the deployment timeframe that provide quality care for the affected population according to internationally acceptable standards. The Clinic Lead will be prepared to manage the emergency project and liaise with local counterparts to ensure a successful operation. While the duties of the Clinic Lead are primarily managerial in nature, as a licensed physician, it is possible that she/he will provide direct care in the field. In such case, any care provided during deployment with Americares will be within the Scope of Practice of her/his professional, clinical duties and practice at her/his regular place of work.
- Coordinate with the Team Lead to facilitate needs assessment, mobilization, and demobilization of the EMT
- Supervise all medical professionals working on the EMT
- Serve as the focal person for all COVID-19 concerns among the clinic staff liaising between X and Y.
- Assess emergency medical needs and link needs to available local resources
- Follow and ensure implementation of Americares clinical guidelines, in-country clinical standards and international standards
- Ensure proper recording, reporting, monitoring and evaluation of medical activities.
- Oversee stock requests and work with the Program Support Lead and Operations Lead on cash forecasts and stock movement
- Ensure medical practices and project implementation are consistent with Americares policy and local standards
- Provide technical and medical decision-making regarding treatment and supervises direct medical treatment
- Act as key decision maker and resolve disagreements on medical treatment options if needed
- Acts as mentor to medical staff, clinical supervisor to the health facility and conducts performance reviews at the end of assignments
- Direct quality assurance and improvement within the EMT
- Oversee the completion of individual deliverables for the medical team
- Provide surge support to team when needed
- Act as safety and security focal point at the clinic site in coordination with the Team Lead

- Medical degree required with 5+ years of post-residency clinical experience.
- Experience working in the field required, particularly in primary health care, maternal and child health, communicable disease including HIV/AIDs, tropical diseases or reproductive health.
- Familiar with international clinical standards (WHO, EMT Initiative, SPHERE).
- Exemplary leadership skills with proven ability to effectively manage in an ambiguous atmosphere as well as forecasting future needs.
- Experience working in an emergency response context.
- Must be available to deploy within 24-72 hours.
- Ability to adapt to the needs of local patients and effectively utilize the limited resources available.
