Database Specialist

Primary Purpose of the Position: Work with users to improve the processes of systems and their integrations within the organization, also ensure data integrity within all the systems. Manage computer environments, train and provide technical support to the users. Prepare technical documentation and help establish work standards. Coordinate projects and its changes by following the deadlines, unit tests, integrations, managing the consultants and partners involved, as well as other activities inherent to the position at the discretion of the immediate superior. Provide support to internal and external clients, and provide training and level 2 support to the helpdesk team. Main Duties and Responsibilities: Communicate and track new system development needs and major/minor system operation and processing issues with system providers. Maintain data integrity to provide accurate, timely and accessible information in support of instruction and school administration activities (admissions, attendance, scheduling, assessments, curriculum mapping and analysis, fund raising, etc.) through a variety of strategies (accurate data entry, elimination of duplicates, etc) Support users with development of reports and training materials. Supporting the academic divisions in the development of the class master schedules. The administration of other centralized campus solutions (parking, access control, library, guidance, other). The integrity of exported data and the migration of the data within and between other academic and administrative systems. Contribute to the development of innovative data processing workflow procedures, presentation and accessibility of electronic data for all members of the school community (schedules, grade reports, newsletters, calendars, etc.). Work with the school administrative team to develop and analyze calendars, schedules, attendance and other reports for adherence to Brazilian legal requirements. Develop and maintain strong and mutually advantageous working relationships with service providers especially in the areas of data collection, integration reporting and performance improvement. Establishing policy for data entry, management, archival and disaster recovery retrieval in conjunction with the Managers and senior leadership. Coordinate, plan, maintain upgrades, optimal performance and accessibility of server systems, in conjunction with the Manager and colleagues across divisions and departments. Answer all Helpdesk Tickets related to systems under the purview of this position. Communicate effectively and personably with faculty, staff, students, department colleagues, volunteers and vendors Work closely with administrative departments including Admissions, Human Resources, ICT, Business, Development, Superintendent, Nurse, academic departments and divisions and parent organizations to define needs or problems and deliver timely solutions. Certifications and Education: Bachelors degree in information systems, computer science or other technical areas Desired: ITIL Foundations COBIT Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Fluent in Portuguese & English. Ability to communicate clearly, orally and in writing. Advanced Knowledge in RDBMs (Oracle, MySQL, MS SQL) Advanced Knowledge in Programming Languages (PHP, HTML, Javascript, CSS, etc.) Advanced Knowledge of SQL Advanced Knowledge in MS Office Advanced Knowledge in Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Drive, etc.) Advanced Knowledge in Project Management Desired: Knowledge in Integration Platforms (Middlewares) Knowledge in Google Scripting
