We are seeking a talented and experienced Senior Data Scientist to complete our AI/ML team at Descartes Systems Group. As a Senior Data Scientist, you will play a pivotal role in driving the data science initiatives, leading the design and implementation of AI/ML solutions, and fostering innovation across the organization.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Lead the data science side of our AI/ML team, overseeing the development and implementation of cutting-edge machine learning models and algorithms.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate prototypes into production-ready solutions, working closely with software engineers and product managers.
- Lead the design and implementation of our data lake infrastructure, ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance.
- Manage and mentor a team of 2-3 data scientists, with responsibilities for hiring and team growth over time.
- Define and communicate the data science vision for AI/ML across the entire company, driving innovation and adoption.
- Serve as a key point of contact for external stakeholders, including customers, partners, and industry experts, to showcase our AI/ML capabilities.
- Engage internally across the organization to garner buy-in for data science initiatives, collaborating closely with various departments to identify opportunities and address challenges.
- Foster a culture of collaboration and continuous learning within the data science team, promoting best practices and knowledge sharing.
**Requirements**:
- Minimum 3 years of experience in Python programming for data analysis, modeling, and software development.
- Fluent in English, with excellent communication and presentation skills.
**Nice to Have**:
- Fluency in Spanish and Portuguese, enabling effective communication with our diverse customer base.
