Essential Functions
- Contribute to Global Category teams in the development, communication, and approval of category sourcing strategies for assigned categories
- Responsible for stakeholder relationships with team members for assigned categories and / or sites, and handles a wide range of two-way communication with and in support of site procurement that arises in the course of implementation, while demonstrating close collaboration and alignment with global and regional category and procurement managers
- Investigate supply market and develop an understanding of general and specific market conditions that impact the assigned categories
- Research and identification of suppliers that reduce cost, improve payment term/cash position, ensure continuity of supply, and meet embecta’s quality requirements
- Select suppliers, conduct supplier negotiations, establish & monitor supply agreements
- Develop and implement effective cost management programs and perform opportunity assessments to deliver year-on-year cost improvement (Savings Pipeline)
- Lead cross-functional teams in association with implementing sourcing strategies, costs savings, issue resolution and other initiatives as required
- Lead supplier management activities for assigned suppliers (SRM)
- Measure and review supplier performance and lead or support supplier continuous improvement programs
- Evaluate supply, quality and price risks, and supplier capabilities. Forecast supply vulnerabilities and implement plans to ensure continuity of supply
- Reporting project activities and ensuring compliance with company purchasing policies and procedures, S2P processes, ethical practices, and adherence to relevant laws and regulations.
- Input as required to development and ongoing support of ERP system - specifically the Source to Pay processes, in the region

Minimum Requirements:

- Bachelor’s degree
- Minimum 5 years Procurement or Supply Chain experience
- Fluent Portuguese, English and Spanish, both oral and written.
- Previous Experience of procuring Indirect Categories across multi-country business locations
- Strong analytical abilities, problem solving skills and the ability to assess complex data
- Project Management skills - implementing new approaches across multiple locations
- Supplier Management skills
- Strong negotiation skills
- Contract creation and management
- Strong sense of intuition and ability to anticipate outcomes of actions, variables, and decisions
- Excellent persuasion & presentation skills; strong oral & written communication skills
- Ability to influence without direct authority
- Experience in use of procurement technology highly desirable
- including but not limited to RFX tools, Contracting, spend analysis tools
- Experience in SAP desirable
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 20% of the time
