Guy Carpenter is seeking talented and motivated individuals to join our GC Treaty Broking team in Rio de Janeiro.

**What can you expect?**

The Reinsurance Broking Intern is responsible for developing the functional skills required to coordinate all broking placement activities of the account. The Reinsurance Broking Intern provides support to all account team members and contributes to strategic recommendations and problem solving for clients. The Reinsurance Broking Intern should develop a broad understanding of the environment in which the insured operates, and the marketplace in which the transactions Guy Carpenter handles take place. The Reinsurance Broking Intern will assist in the broking team with client and market research and financial analysis for current and prospective clients. The Reinsurance Broking Intern will be responsible for communicating particulars for the account internally, supporting Guy Carpenter’s renewals as well as new placements and RFPs.

**We will count on you to**:

- ** **Data collection and analysis in building reinsurance submission for current and prospective clients
- Assist in renewing reinsurance programs and provide brokers with portfolio analysis as needed
- Assist in responding to client queries and concerns, resolving issues promptly
- Assist in monitoring accountings (premium payments, loss collections, etc.) anticipating and preventing problems when possible
- Assist with broker review on contract documentation, ensuring that the contract has accurately captured terms and conditions of placement
- Assist broking team in designing new programs / reinsurance structures for clients’ needs
- Respond to client requests for information (reinsurer, financial reports, industry issues, etc.), as directed by senior broker, coordinating with Business Intelligence area and other departments as necessary, and clearing with senior broker
- Assist in timely production of contract documentation and follow-up, ensuring timely flow of materials
- Update Brokers on issues, progress etc., regularly and upon request
- Assist with scheduling of client roadshow meetings with reinsurers and/or visits

**What you need to have**:

- ** **Graduating from a bachelor’s degree program in Actuarial Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Commerce, Finance, Economics, Engineering
- Curious and proactive mindset: desire and ability to lead internal initiatives and research projects to completion
- Communication and presentation skills: an ability to translate complex technical analysis and concepts into easily understandable terms for brokers and clients
- A collaborative, team-oriented professional with effective interpersonal skills
- Strong ability to be organized and detail oriented
- Proficient in MS Excel with skills in other MS Office products
- English speaker
