The Business Unit Director - Companion Animals is responsible for heading the dedicated Brazil Companion Animals Business Unit sales team and further developing the business model accordance with departmental and company strategy. Also, for maximizing the sales of our Companion Animals Business Unit by promoting and servicing the products and by implementing marketing and sales activities in direct contact with the customers.

**Primary Responsibilities**:

- To develop best business models to go-to-market in an efficient way for the Animal Health Business.
- Manages, leads, motivates, coaches, develops, and trains the sales team according to their objectives.
- Manages performance on a regular basis.
- Manages each team member in order to achieve the goals: rewards and recognizes high-performing team members and manages non-performance appropriately.
- Coaches, mentors and coordinates training plans for the team.
- Ensures continuous communication of information with the General Manager and Marketing team.
- Shares and implements best practices within the country and across the region.
- Builds and maintains business relationships with targeted customers, Key Opinion Leaders and authorities and ensures customer satisfaction and engagement to the company and its products in order to meet or exceed annual sales objectives.
- Gives constructive feedback to the Marketing Manager on the acceptance of the promotional campaign and materials, including digital marketing campaigns.
- Escalates commercial cases up to the level of its authority. Ensures the development and implementation of the yearly commercial plan and monitors the impact and comes with actions.
- Identifies customer needs, segmentation, drivers / barriers, and develops segmentation strategies.
- Measures the team’s performance, implement Sales Force Effectiveness guidance and guarantees an accurate Customer Relations Manager system data update.

**Requirements**:

- A proven track record of business experience and tangible results in sectors related to the companion animals’ businesses preferable AND OR multi-species businesses.
- Strong experience leading large teams.
- A well-established people leader with the ability to align fellow leaders, professional peers and subordinates across functions and markets to drive progress on strategic objectives.
- Proven ability to synthesize industry and market trends into successful commercial strategies.
- Able to convey complex ideas; prioritize business needs & objectives; develop & implement comprehensive action plans.
- Significant experience negotiating & closing new business and developing strategic partnerships.
- In-depth experience in effective performance management and organizational development with a strong personal commitment to people development in a diverse and multi-talented team culture
- Fluent in English, Portuguese and ideally Spanish.
- Educated to Bachelor’s/Master’s degree level in a business-related discipline.
- MBA or related courses desirable.
