Mt. Bachelor strives to deliver Central Oregon’s most memorable outdoor adventures to locals and out-of-town visitors on a year-round basis. Mt. Bachelor’s 365 days of fun includes 4,300 acres of lift-accessible terrain for skiing and snowboarding, Woodward Mountain Parks, a world-class Nordic Center, summer and fall downhill biking in the Mt. Bachelor Bike Park, Sun Country Tours (white water rafting), hiking, Sunset Dinners, Zip-Touring and chairlift-accessible sightseeing.

Position Summary

Mt. Bachelor's Snow Removal Operators are integral to the success and operation of the mountain. Snow Removal Operators clear parking lots and roadways during the night, often in variable conditions to create a safe and usable spaces for guests and employees. Operators use heavy equipment and must be able to work and communicate over distances with each other as well as with other departments for the overall maintenance and accessibility of the mountain.

Successful applicants are self-driven and used to working hard in adverse weather.

Essential Functions/Major Responsibilities- Clear parking lots and roadways of snow.- Clear snow from maintenance areas.- Clean ice and snow from equipment and complete equipment inspections each shift.- Chain building and repair for equipment.

Secondary Function- Assist the vehicle mechanics in service and repair of plow equipment as needed.- Hauling/Moving of snow for daytime operations.- Clear snow off of some roofs with equipment.- Fill pot holes in lots and roads as needed.- Open drains in predetermined locations around the resort.

Interpersonal Contacts

Grooming operators, Parking attendants, Vehicle mechanics, Lift Maintenance mechanics, Lift Services operators and early arriving guests in parking areas.

Specific Job Skills- License/Certifications: Current and Valid Driver’s License,- Technical: Able to operate, learn new skills and teach heavy equipment operations in a safe and efficient manner.- Physical Capabilities: Able to work at night in variable weather conditions.- Additional: Safety as priority, clear communication between other staff and departments. CDL is a plus.

Education/Related Experience- Minimum education required: High School or Equivalent- Minimum time in related position: 2 Year/seasons
- Current Hiring Rate: _$21.25/hour._
- Minimum Age Requirement:_ 18
