Position Summary

The Social Media & Content Specialist plays a key role in storytelling, brand-building, growth, and engagement through Mt. Bachelor’s digital channels. This position is responsible for developing Mt. Bachelor’s social media strategy, creating compelling social media content, capturing and editing photo and video assets, writing copy, managing creators, and engaging with our online community. This role requires a passion for mountain culture, an eye for visual storytelling, strong writing skills and attention to detail, and the ability to adapt content quickly across multiple platforms in real-time.

Essential Functions/Major Responsibilities- Develop and implement Mt. Bachelor’s social media strategy with a focus on channel growth, engagement, and diverse content.- Develop, create, and publish engaging content across all Mt. Bachelor social media channels (Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, YouTube, etc.).- With an emphasis on iPhone content, plan, capture, and edit photos and videos for use across digital and social platforms.- Write creative and concise captions and posts that reflect Mt. Bachelor’s voice and tone.- Monitor social media channels, respond to comments/messages, and engage with the community in a timely manner.- Collaborate cross-functionally with marketing, events, guest services, and mountain operations teams to tell authentic and informative stories.- Develop and manage Mt. Bachelor’s influencer and creator strategy.- Create and maintain a social media content calendar aligned with marketing campaigns, promotions, events, and seasonal happenings.- Analyze performance data to make informed strategy decisions.- Stay up to date with emerging trends, tools, and best practices in social media and content creation.- Support Mt. Bachelor brand partners through content integration and exposure on digital platforms.- Work closely with the Marketing Brand Manager to develop brand needs and work with outside contractors on branded content shoots.- Assist with branded content shoots, shoot video b-roll for media needs.- Oversee Mt. Bachelor’s photo and video equipment, including storage, maintenance, etc.

Qualifications- 2 years of experience managing social media for a brand or agency.- At least 2 years’ experience in iPhone photography, videography, and editing.- Basic understanding or 1 year of experience in shooting and editing with DSLR cameras.- GoPro shooting and editing skills.- Proficiency in content creation tools, including Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, or similar platforms.- Excellent writing, grammar, and storytelling skills.- Deep understanding of major social platforms (Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, YouTube) and what performs well on each.- Strong organizational and project management skills, ability to shoot and edit content quickly while on the go.- Ability to work independently and in a collaborative team environment.- Deadline-driven with excellent time management and multi-tasking skills.- Must be at least a strong intermediate skier/snowboarder, and comfortable working in an outdoor, mountain environment in all seasons.- Passion for outdoor adventure, snow sports, and the Central Oregon lifestyle.

Preferred Qualifications- Experience working in an outdoor recreation environment.- Knowledge of Mt. Bachelor and experience skiing/riding Mt. Bachelor.- Familiarity with social analytics tools (Meta Business Suite, Sprout Social, etc.).

Work Environment- Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays, as needed.- Work may include on-mountain content capture, hiking, biking, skiing, snowboarding, and rafting to create immersive content.- A hybrid work schedule may be available based on departmental needs.
