**Key Responsibilities**
- Develop and manage KOL relationships with government and associations to further understanding, acceptance and promulgation of Mars and Royal Canin.
- Represent Royal Canin interests to industry groups and trade associations where appropriate in collaboration with other Regulatory Affairs team members.
- Lead Public Affairs key projects and advocacy priorities.
- Influence the regulatory framework.
- Anticipate, manage and coordinate responses to issues and/or new regulations/policy initiatives that hold the potential to affect the company’s image, freedom to operate and stakeholder positioning in support of key initiatives.
- Lead our efforts for a compliant on sanitary and no tariffs barriers in collaboration with other Regulatory Affairs team members.
- Feed relevant forums as S&OP (SMR) and Technical Leadership Team in discussions and decision making in Brazil.
- Drive Royal Canin positions and Public Affairs agenda in line with Brazil business objectives / OGSM, as for example, security vet business and raise the bar priorities.
- Be part of high-level committees of relevant external local bodies and drive co-leadership in Brazil national associations and manage government relations on important topics for the business.

**Context and Scope**
- The job holder needs to maintain relationship with Leadership Team as well as all key business functions to ensure is embedded enough to support the business priorities.
- Ensure that internal key stakeholders will be inform on the key issues and have visibility of future external factors that could affect the freedom to operate of the Brazilian business.
- Implement strategic plans to enhance our ability to communicate with government officials and trade associations and maintain ongoing relationships with them.
- Coordinate horizon scanning and ongoing monitoring, tracking, impact assessment to legislative activity at the local, state and national levels.
- It must stay in good contact with Global and Regional Regulatory and Public Affairs teams to ensure proper flow of global and regional strategies to local market.
- Maintain a joint and collaborative work with the Corporate Affairs teams of Mars Brasil, to coordinate together strategies that guarantee the fulfillment of Mars Brazil priorities.

**Job Specifications**/Qualifications**

**Education & Professional Qualifications**:

- Bachelor’s degree in a Veterinary Medicine or Animal Science.
- Specialization in Public Affairs is desired.

**Knowledge / Experience**:

- 6+ years of experience in Regulatory Affairs, International Trade, Public Affairs / Government Relations, and Sustainability topics.
- Fluent in English is mandatory (both written and oral).
- Strong strategic focus with a clear understanding of the wider issues impacting the market.
- Demonstrate ability to motivate and communicate with others at all levels.
- Influential relationships skills. Able to use these relationships to deliver service improvements.
- Able to adapt and succeed in a changing environment.
- Ability to influence team members in a matrix environment to drive projects that drive growth for the business.
- Ability to understand the dynamics of the business both internally and externally.
- Project management skills is desired.
- Knowledge in pet or pharmacy market is desired.
