This role within the Caterpillar NAC team will play an integral role in supporting ISE for Caterpillar’s global network. This position provides level 3 technical support for complex ISE issues, manages ISE policies, and will collaborate with the NAC team to shape ISE global strategy for Caterpillar. As part of level 3 support, this role will interface regularly with Cisco technical support to drive resolution for Caterpillar’s most complex issues.

As a part of the Caterpillar NAC team, you will also have the opportunity to work with other cross-functional teams such as the LAN/WLAN, WAN, Firewall, Security, and Data Center to complete projects.

This role collaborates regularly with the Caterpillar Security team to implement policies and assist with NAC transformation across all Caterpillar sites. As a project member you will have the opportunity to work with multiple business partners across the globe to increase security within Caterpillar’s network.

**Job Duties/Responsibilities**:

- Support/Expertise _
- Manage complex ISE technical problems by identifying root cause and solution.
- Provide off-shift support for critical incidents. Team members rotate through an on-call schedule, requiring occasional off-shift and weekend support calls.
- Deploy ISE infrastructure technology components based on technical requirements
- Support security group tags (SGTs) and micro-segmentation within ISE
- Perform integrated testing and customer acceptance testing of components that requires careful planning and execution to ensure timely, quality results.
- Participate as needed on projects requiring ISE expertise, development, and/or guidance
- Strategy/Guidance _
- Investigate and test new ISE configurations/policies - work with NAC team to make recommendations and set global policies
- Assist business partners with documentation, training, and usability efforts.
- Integrate processes across functional organizations.

**Qualifications**
- Required Qualifications _
- Four-year technical degree, technical certification, or equivalent experience
- 10-15 years industry experience in related technical field
- 5+ years’ experience with ISE support, troubleshooting, and policies.
- 1-3 years of experience using RADIUS/802.1x Authentication and Network Management systems.
- 3-6 years supporting and implementing LAN and WLAN technologies in a medium to large business.
- Knowledgeable of ISE design, implementation, and operations management.
- Strong general knowledge of computing hardware, software, and infrastructure elements
- Strong knowledge of information security technologies and networking.
- Strong communication skills and ability to engage with customers to understand requirements
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
- Ability to manage projects from start to finish with regular updates provided to leadership.
- Ability to identify and communicate gaps in processes.
- Ability to work and participate within a team environment.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate with others regularly.
- Desired Qualifications _
- Experience in configuring, deploying, and supporting Cisco ISE SGT environments.
- Strong knowledge of change management policies and procedures.
- 1-3 years of experience as a security engineer where the focus of the position is Cisco ISE.
- Development experience with Python.
- At least one of the following certifications: CCNA Security or CCNP Security.
