Corporate Affairs Jr. Manager

**Job Purpose - Corporate Affairs Jr. Manager - Public Affairs**:

- Public Affairs maximizes opportunities & minimizes risk by guiding business decisions based on scientific & regulatory insight and provide appropriate governance structures, anticipating policy and regulatory issues.
- As the Public Affairs lead, you will help develop and implement global strategies to build and protect our category leadership and our freedom to operate, leading our external policy engagement efforts around business strategy, whilst developing strategic relationships with key stakeholder (associations, government, policymakers, and legislators) that result in the protection and/or enhancement of the company reputation.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Build and protect our Brands and Categories, ensure our freedom to operate and category leadership through best in class in public affairs strategies and tools.
- Provide technical expertise and advice to business leaders and markets on public policy and regulatory trends, and public affairs opportunities and issues.
- Proactively track, report and help manage regulatory and non-regulatory developments and systemic industry issues, and help prioritize and quantify the impacts on our business.
- Develop and maintain best in class public affairs processes, tools and materials to monitor and report internally on policy and regulatory developments impacting the business.
- Develop global advocacy materials to support stakeholder engagement activities in markets, including position statements, issue briefs, fact-sheets, advocacy toolkit, etc.
- Identify and monitor policy and regulatory developments impacting and develop appropriate public affairs strategies to mitigate their impact on the business and/or ensure our category leadership.
- Work with the Global Public Affairs to implement the global H&W advocacy strategy, packaging sustainability regulation, climate, international trade among others.
- Work with Corporate Affairs team to build the Mars reputation consistent with our public policy agenda.
- Develop and Manage key opinion leaders relationships with government and associations to further understanding, acceptance and promulgation of Mars.
- Represent Mars interests to industry groups and trade associations where appropriate.
- Lead Public Affairs key projects and advocacy priorities across Mars Wrigley connecting also other Mars Brazil segments.
- Anticipate, manage and coordinate responses to issues and/or new regulations/policy initiatives that hold the potential to affect the company’s image, freedom to operate and stakeholder positioning in support of key initiatives across segments.
- Identify opportunities to unlock full potential of each key player through ongoing collaboration and communication (Legal, Regulatory Affairs and functional leaders).

**Education & Professional Qualifications**:

- Degree in Public Relations, International Relation, Law or similar
- 7 years in the area of Government/Public Affairs

**Knowledge and Experience**:

- Ability to work well as part of a high performing team, as well as independently with mínimal supervision.
Ability to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize given a fast-moving set of projects.
- Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, to all levels, both internally and externally, with excellent written and verbal English.
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage issues with cross-functional, cross-regional teams.
- Strategic tinker with a results-oriented approach.
- Ability to understand the dynamics of the business both internally and externally including the impact of the outside market, competitive landscape and other economic pressures.
