**About the Role**: **Grade Level (for internal use)**: 12 **The Team**: Upstream Solutions from S&P Global Commodity Insights comprise some of the most extensive and complete information, analytics, insight, and advisory services in the world. We deliver oil and gas databases and software, energy transition insight, energy supply and demand forecasts, and comprehensive data on transactions at the global and regional market levels. The S&P Global Upstream Solutions Basins offering provides critical geological information and insight which supports a variety of products within S&P Global's Commodity Insights Upstream Solutions organization. The core basins team comprises experienced geoscientists and has a global footprint with key locations in Geneva, Houston, Kuala Lumpur and Tetbury (UK) **Responsibilities and Impact**: Coordinate technical research, analysis and interpretation of information and data relating to the sedimentary basins of Latin America Maintenance of the IRIS21 database (Geological Provinces, Petroleum Systems, Plays & Stratigraphy) and of geological spatial layers to support our global coverage Collaborate with global and regional teams to ensure alignment and integration of research findings. Mentor and guide junior researchers to enhance team capabilities and performance. Identify and explore new research opportunities to drive innovation and product development. **What We’re Looking For**:Basic Required Qualifications**: A highly motivated, personable and collaborative individual who is a dynamic, articulate, well-rounded, critical thinker and has a commercial mindset Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Geophysics, or a related field. Extensive experience in basin research, particularly within the Latin American region. > 10 years upstream industry experience Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex geological data. Excellent oral and written communication skills, in English and Portuguese. **Additional Preferred Qualifications**: Advanced degree ( Master’s or Ph.D.) in Geology, Geophysics, or a related field. Proficiency in using geological software and tools for data analysis Demonstrated ability to lead and innovate in research projects and product development.
