Reuters is looking for an experienced and dynamic journalist with excellent news judgement and sharp editing skills to drive our Portuguese service’s breaking news coverage of Brazil on everything from companies and markets to macroeconomics and politics.

As **Breaking News Editor, Portuguese Language Service**, you will:

- Help lead our Brazil breaking news coverage across a range of sources and topics
- Ensure we are delivering fast and accurate headlines and updates
- Plan coverage of events and prepare for the unexpected
- Lead from the front in the newsroom
- Drive aggressive wins on the corporate and markets file as well as other key areas such as commodities and macroeconomics

To be our **Breaking News Editor, Portuguese Language Service**, you will likely have:

- At least 5 years of journalism experience in fast-paced breaking news situations
- Outstanding news judgement
- Sharp editing skills and a knack for problem-solving
- Deep knowledge of Brazil’s companies, commodities, politics and regulatory issues
- Demonstrated ability to drive coverage by leading a team of reporters
