Job description:
LSEG Commodities Research is a team of 100+ analysts proud to deliver insight into the commodities physical and futures markets. Combining deep domain expertise, vast data resources, and the LSEG's Workspace platform, analysts are trusted partners of commodities professionals worldwide.

Role: Research Lead, Agriculture

Location: São Paulo, BRA

Responsibilities
- Participate in strategic decisions on Agriculture research models
- Mentor a team of Agriculture Research analysts when it comes to modelling, and drive a data-first culture aligned with business goals
- Lead initiative to modernize and streamline data systems/processes, including transitioning to a new cloud-based platform
- Use cloud-based technology to address business requirements
- Establish and implement standards and policies whilst ensuring compliance with data governance, regulatory requirements and metadata management
- Optimize model designs for scalability, efficiency and performance
- Collaborate with various teams to understand, prioritize and fulfil data needs, acting as a bridge between technical teams and non-technical partners, including customers and prospects

Required Skills/experience
- Experience in designing, building and maintaining Python-based models dedicated to market research in agriculture
- Experience setting up models and data flows in cloud-based environments
- Knowledge of related technologies such as Databricks and Spark
- Proactive mentality with a clear focus on end-product and user experience
- Experience with platforms such as GitLab, Jira, Confluence

Preferred Skills/experience
- Experience in standard Supply and Demand analysis
- Experience with Power BI
- Passionate about agriculture & agricultural markets

Qualifications
- Higher education with Master’s degree or equivalent experience in Data Science, Agriculture Economics or a related field
- 2+ years experience in a leadership role would be a plus
