PURPOSE

This position exists to provide technical support primarily to the FA LATAM Tailings operational divisions with the core function being to monitor and manage technical risk. Technical support is provided to the other FA operational divisions as and when needed.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Operational

Support the Provide mentoring, guidance, and support to tailings operations.

Identify, monitor, report, and mitigate technical risks in ongoing technical audits.

Facilitate risk assessments on facilities with significant risk.

Develop and agree on risk mitigation measures.

Undertake technical assessments of tailings operations including stability assessments, life assessments water balances etc.

Preparation of technical audit reports in line with country regulations and Fraser´s standards.

Optimization

Ensure continuous improvement to optimize the effective functioning of the Technical Division.

Work closely with Operations on contracts to ensure that appropriate estimations have been made and accurate costings are submitted for project deliverables and performance in terms of technical input.

Training SHEQ Management

Facilitate Function within FA and Client SHEQ standards and procedures.

Suggest improvements and corrective actions where appropriate.

Stakeholder Management

It is required to reach clients and industry and government-related institutions, educating, mentoring, and discussing the benefits of hydro-remining, and tailings deposition methods vs alternatives.

QUALIFICATIONS

(4 years Degree) BSc Eng or BEng (Civil.)

MRD 101.

FA Internal Training - Basic Skills Training (MQA Accredited).

EXPERIENCE

At least 4 Years applicable experience in tailings (operational and technical.

Experience with Autocad or similar.

SKILLS, QUALITIES AND ABILITIES REQUIRED

Advanced proficiency in English.

Knowledge of geophysics and geotechnology.

Skills in the area of mineral/mining engineering and Civil.

Good communication.

The capacity to build and maintain relationships.
