The role
An opportunity has arisen for a Category Manager of Energy. The main purpose of this role is to ensure LATAM Energy Procurement activities by anticipating trends and seeking innovations of the energy market, as well as developing and executing LATAM's energy category strategy, in collaboration with stakeholders and in alignment with global and local requirements in order to be recognized as a trusted advisor in energy.

Your Responsibilities
Reporting to the Regional Procurement Leader and the Global Category Director of Energy, **the main duties of this role will include**:

- Responsible for ensuring full LATAM Energy Procurement activities and meeting ADM’s STRIVE35 objectives (sustainability goals) relevant to the Energy Category;
- Develop and drive the LATAM Energy Category Strategy based on the organization’s objectives and marketplace knowledge;
- Establish and evaluate performance metrics for LATAM Energy Category and own value delivery results;
- Lead, mentor, and develop your direct reports through the process of Strategic Sourcing & Category Strategy definition, development, and implementation, whilst collaborating with the wider Global Energy Category;
- Proactively engage internal stakeholders to understand business needs, align objectives, jointly develop the Energy Category Strategy whilst educating key stakeholders on energy market trends and changes in regulation;
- Collaborate with the Centers of Excellence on energy efficiency, sustainability projects, utilities and commercial department;
- Establish and maintain effective relationships with key Suppliers, ensuring quality of service, innovation and issue resolution where necessary;
- Support continuous improvement towards development and implementation of necessary tools, systems and reports with regards to Category Management.

Your Profile
- Bachelor's Degree preferably in Agriculture, Procurement, Economics, or Engineering. Master Degree in related field is preferred;
- Business experience in the energy industry;
- Strong knowledge on numerous LATAM electric power, natural gas, biomass, co-generation and environmental markets.
- Strong, professional communication skills and ability to build relationships in English and Portuguese, both verbal and written (fluency in other languages a strong plus);
- Ability to engage, communicate, negotiate and influence mid to senior level stakeholders (internal & external) and establish trust and credibility with Business Unit leaders and other functional stakeholders;
- Strong analytical skills and well organized, with a deep understanding of financial analysis; ability to analyze data as well as draw out and communicate insights;
- Experience and demonstrated success in negotiation of complex energy agreements; commercial skills and familiarity with contract law is a must;
- Familiarity with multiple Sourcing systems (eg. COUPA, Ariba, Bravo) is beneficial.
