**Position Overview**

The LATAM Energy & Indirect Manager will contribute to the development and execution of both global and regional buying strategies for the business. The role will cover our LATAM business across Argentina, Brazil & Colombia. The manager will lead the sourcing strategy for the segments to deliver sustainable cost savings programs for the business. The indirect category includes facilities and real estate, business services (consulting, financial, legal, human resources services, benefits), marketing, media, and contingent labor in addition to Energy & GARP (Global Asset Recovery Program). The category spend is around 50M+ CAD million annually. The Director of Indirect will lead sourcing strategy development, tactics and key activities for the category. This role will report directly into the LATAM Procurement Senior Director and will have 3 direct reports.

**Outcomes/Objectives**
- Developing the strategy and leading the execution of buying strategies
- Building and leading supplier relationships and program development to deliver significant value for McCain Foods, ensuring company purchases in the spend pool comply with internal company controls and requirements. This will include monitoring supplier performance versus expectations/service level agreements.
- Recommending, approving and implementing business allocations.
- Leading or serving as a team member in sourcing activities to include vendor selections, negotiations, contract and category management;
- Establishing and maintaining day-to-day working relationships with clients for whom the role is responsible;
- Recommending and executing best practices for the business in developed and new markets;
- Influencing clients to align with the regional and global buying strategy;
- Participating in external forums and associations;
- Ensuring compliance with proper procedures, policies, systems and controls;
- Operations and business results;
- Leading and contributing to global/regional projects; and
- Ensuring team knowledge transfer.

**Knowledge/Qualifications/Experience**

To effectively perform in this job the position holder must have:

- Undergraduate degree is required, ideally in a numerical/economical discipline.
- A minimum of 7 years of buying experience with accountability for large spend
- Industry experience has ideally been gained in the fast moving consumer goods industry.
- Has ideally gained experience in indirect & energy buying in Latin America, and on a multi-country basis at a minimum. Strong preference for experience in buying like categories.
- Competency in analyzing information, excellent attention to detail - ensuring accuracy in every step and problem solving.
- Has a proven track record of successfully influencing and/or influencing change within a business.
- Can point to success in realizing significant savings for the business.
- Strong decision-making skills with the ability to handle tight deadlines and many competing priorities.
- Strong quality assurance orientation.
- Strong administrative capabilities with proficiency in SAP and Excel ideal.
- He/she has superior influencing, collaboration and communication skills (written and verbal) and is able to build strong working relationships.
- Has strong command of English, Portuguese & Spanish
- Location - São Paulo, Brazil or Buenos Aires, Argentina
- Travel Requirements - domestic and occasional international travel required
