About the Role:
We are looking for a pro-active, highly motivated and result oriented Underwriter to help the growth of our share in this market by underwriting of existing and new business opportunities, promoting capabilities, and developing initiatives.

You will act as a key player for the UW process and focus on the origination of medium to large industrial corporations in Brazil.

Your main tasks will be generating new business opportunities, analyzing and assessing the technical insurability in respect of exposures and coverages, reviewing cover structures, wordings and proposals and preparing quotations. You will be expected to actively identify client needs and growth potential and develop tailor-made solutions in partnership with clients / brokers Assess, price and structure business offered. Deploy capacity effectively, maximizing Economic Profit. Ensure that standard methodology is consistently adapted and ensure our services is delivered in a professional and timely manner. Furthermore, you will contribute to project work, work in international deal teams and accept special assignments as required.

About the Team:

- Our team has extensive knowledge of the local market and works closely with clients to provide tailored insurance solutions. The team is made up of professionals with underwriting expertise and a wealth of experience in the Casualty insurance sector. Together with our team in Zurich, we ensure that our clients can access our global network of experts when required._

**Interaction with other parties**:
Regular contact with brokers and clients

Interfacing with internal Swiss Re units, among others Actuarial Services, Claims, Legal, Contracts and Wording, and Products.

About You:

- 5 years or more of relevant Casualty experience in Insurance, Reinsurance or Insurer Broker Company.
- Experience in GL Construction underwriting
- Knowledge and experience of the assigned market with existing established network of contact brokers, risk managers and clients.
- Strong technical underwriting background and focus on service orientation with proven business impact.
- Solid understanding of the insurance Casualty environment including understanding of trends and their impact on clients. Ability to work as a team player and ability to work independently with autonomy. Communication skill both internally and externally. Practical, flexible but able to make tough decisions under time pressure.
